1st XI v. Woodford Green Essex
League
The Parks stuck to their
task in the field on a sodden, overcast afternoon, before the game was
abandoned. Josh Gordon was unlucky to
have two catches put down in his 12 overs for 28, but Alex Greyburn fared
better with his spin, taking 3 for 33 off 9.

XI Essex League
Parks decided to
insert Woodford Green on a miserable Saturday afternoon. After reaching 110-0
in 17 overs, the game was gratefully abandoned in persistent rain.

4th XI v. Upminster - Friendly
Batting first in heavy
drizzle in this last opportunity for pre-league practice, the Parks batting was
impressive. With Neil Cox, Dave Allbury
and Dave Buxton all contributing well, the stage was set for Iffey Patel to
stroke his way to 78 not out, supported at the end by Chris
Nutt. Declaring on 200-3
after 40 overs, the Parks were disappointed to be confined to the pavilion
after tea by continuing rain.

Sunday A v. Coach & Horses
Parks played a
good spirited game against Coach & Horses, with the visitors reaching 239-8
in their 40 overs. Sivarajah (2-38) and
Jonathan Medley (3-57) bowled well. In reply, after an opening stand of 90
between Foley (40) and Shahid Khan (36) Parks struggled to keep up with the
required rate, but Allbury (31) and Bouquet (47) almost pulled Parks over the
line, falling short by 29 runs.

Colts Teams
Under
11's v. South Woodford
The Under 11's played their first match in the new U11 Cup competition
against a strong South Woodford team.
Old Parks won the toss and put South Woodford
into bat. A fine opening spell of bowling by Sachin Bawa and Karthik Bhat
restricted the batting team in the first few overs. Sachin Bawa continued his excellent
season with the ball by taking a further four wickets this week off 4 overs for
10 runs.
South Woodford recovered to
score 115 for 7 wickets off 20 overs with Suhail and John both retiring on 27
runs each.
In reply Old Parks managed 78 runs all out, losing the match by 37 runs.
Under
16 Matchplay v. Canvey
Island
A fine all round team performance lead to another win, with Parks’ two
youngest players Ravi Raval taking 3 wickets for 21 runs off 5 overs and
Lakshman Sathananthan excelling in the field and bowling 3 fine overs for 9
runs.
Canvey Island were put into bat and scored
125 all out after 34 overs, Chris Hassan scoring 56 runs and Sagar Patel taking
4 wickets for 24 runs off of 6 overs.
In reply Old Parks scored 127 for 2 to win the match in 26.5 overs,
Sagar Patel scoring 56 runs not out in a 78 run partnership with Liam Lee who
finished on 29 not out after hitting two massive sixes.
